A very bright Eastern celebration took place on Saturday night at the "Nativity of Jesus Christ" Orthodox parish (former Catalina de Siena church) with the presence of first authorities and guests.
In addition to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation H.E. Alexander I. Kurnetzov and the Counsellor of the Greek Embassy H.E. Fotis Manoussakis, a representation of the Roman Catholic Bishopric was present together with National, Regional and Local Authorities that included a delegate from the Ministry of Justice in charge of religious affairs in Spain. Among the Mallorca authorities were remarkable the presence of the General in-Chief of the Army of the Balearic archipelago, the Regional Ministers of Interior and Immigration-Cooperation who came with the General Director of institutional relationships, the City Major delegate, the Parliament delegate, the President of the Royal Academy of Medicine, the General Secretary of the Balearic University, a consular representation from Greece and many others.
The rain was the only inconvenience that reduced the procession to inside the church although it did not dissuade many to come as the church had not enough capacity for all.
